Still Have Questions About Car Rental in Prague City Centre?

What documents are required to rent a car in Prague City Centre?
1. Passport or ID card
Required to verify your identity and complete the rental agreement.

2. Driver’s license
The license must be issued at least 1 year before the rental date.

3. International Driving Permit (IDP)
Required in some cases if your driver’s license was issued outside the EU. It must be presented together with your national driver’s license.

Please check with our manager in advance to confirm whether an IDP will be required.
What is the minimum age to rent a car in the Czech Republic?
Car rental is available to a wide range of travelers. The main requirement is at least 1 year of driving experience.

Please note the following age categories:

• Standard conditions: ages 25–64.

• Young driver (19–24): rental is available, but a young driver surcharge may apply.

• Senior driver (65–75): rental is available up to 75 years old (additional conditions may apply).
Is it possible to rent a car without a credit card?
Yes. A credit card is not required. Payment can be made by debit card or cash at pick-up.
Is it possible to rent a car without a deposit?
Yes. With our Gold Coverage option, the vehicle can be rented without leaving a deposit.
When do I need to pay for the rental?
A small prepayment is required to reserve your car for the selected dates. The remaining balance is paid at pick-up in cash or by card, with no hidden fees.
What happens if I return the car late?
If you are delayed, please inform our team as soon as possible. Minor delays are usually not a problem, and we typically allow a grace period of about 1 hour.

If the delay is longer and we are not informed in advance, an additional rental day may be charged, as the vehicle may already be reserved for another customer.
Can I return the car at a different location in Prague?
If your plans change and you need to return the vehicle in another location, please contact our support team in advance. If operationally possible, we will arrange the return at a different point.

Please note that returning the vehicle in another city may involve an additional one-way fee to cover relocation costs.
Do I need to clean the car before returning it?
Normal dirt from regular use does not require cleaning before return. Standard cleaning is included in the rental price.

However, if the vehicle interior is heavily soiled (for example stains on seats, excessive dirt, or pet hair), or if the exterior is extremely dirty and prevents inspection, an additional cleaning fee may apply.
What is the deposit amount and when is it refunded?
The deposit depends on the vehicle category and typically ranges from €500 to €2000. The exact amount is shown during booking.

The deposit is released when the car is returned. The refund time depends on your bank and usually takes 3–14 business days.

Tip: Choose Full Coverage (GOLD Coverage) to rent a car without a deposit!
What is included in the basic insurance?
Every rental already includes the mandatory basic insurance package, which consists of two parts:

• TPL (Third-Party Liability) – covers damage caused to other vehicles or property.

• CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) – covers damage to the rental car in case of an accident. Your liability is limited to the excess amount.

Please note: Basic insurance usually does not cover damage to tires, windows, or the underbody. For zero excess and no deposit, we recommend choosing our Full Coverage (GOLD Coverage) option.
Why choose GOLD Coverage (Full Insurance)?
Full coverage means less stress during your trip. Key benefits:

• Zero or reduced deposit – no large amount blocked on your card.

• Zero excess – you pay nothing for scratches or damage.

• Faster return – simply hand over the keys without lengthy inspections.
What should I do in case of an accident or breakdown?
First of all, stay calm — our support team is always ready to help. Please follow these steps:

• Safety – turn on the hazard lights, place a warning triangle, and make sure everyone is safe.

• Police (in case of an accident) – call the local police to obtain an official report. In most European countries you can dial 112. Please note that without a police report, the insurance will not cover the damage.

• Contact us – call our 24/7 support using the number in your rental agreement.

In case of a mechanical issue, we will arrange roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle as soon as possible.
Do I need a vignette when driving from Prague?
If you plan to drive outside Prague or travel to other European countries, you may need a motorway vignette.

• In the Czech Republic and several neighboring countries, motorways require a vignette that can be purchased online.

• In countries such as Italy, France, Croatia, or Poland, toll roads are paid at toll gates according to distance.

Our team can help you check the requirements and purchase the necessary vignette when you pick up the car in Prague city centre.
Where can I park in Prague city centre?
Parking in Prague is organized through color-coded zones.

• Blue zones – mainly for residents. Visitor parking is limited.

• Purple and orange zones – short-term public parking areas.

• P+R parking – large parking areas near metro stations outside the centre.

Tip: Mobile apps such as EasyPark or local parking apps are often the easiest way to pay for parking.
What are the typical speed limits?
When driving from Prague to other parts of the country, the standard limits are:

• City areas: 50 km/h
• Outside cities: 90 km/h
• Motorways: 130 km/h

Always follow road signs, as some areas have lower limits.
