Still Have Questions About Car Rental in the Czech Republic?
Required to verify your identity and complete the rental agreement.
2. Driver’s license
The license must be issued at least 1 year before the rental date.
3. International Driving Permit (IDP)
Required in some cases if your driver’s license was issued outside the EU. It must be presented together with your national driver’s license.
Please check with our manager in advance to confirm whether an IDP will be required.
Please note the following age categories:
• Standard conditions: ages 25–64.
• Young driver (19–24): rental is available, but a young driver surcharge may apply.
• Senior driver (65–75): rental is available up to 75 years old (additional conditions may apply).
You can pay for the rental with a debit card, and cash payment is also available.
By choosing a full coverage package (Gold Coverage), you can avoid leaving a deposit entirely. Travel with peace of mind and enjoy your trip without having your funds frozen during your vacation.
We usually provide a grace period of about 1 hour. If the delay is significantly longer and we are not notified in advance, an additional rental day may be charged, as this may affect the next booking and insurance coverage.
Please note that returning the car at a different location, especially in another city, may involve an additional fee to cover the cost of returning the vehicle.
However, if the vehicle interior is heavily soiled (for example stains on seats, excessive dirt, or pet hair), or if the exterior is extremely dirty and prevents inspection, an additional cleaning fee may apply.
The deposit is released when the car is returned. The refund time depends on your bank and usually takes 3–14 business days.
Tip: Choose Full Coverage (GOLD Coverage) to rent a car without a deposit!
• TPL (Third-Party Liability) – covers damage caused to other vehicles or property.
• CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) – covers damage to the rental car in case of an accident. Your liability is limited to the excess amount.
Please note: Basic insurance usually does not cover damage to tires, windows, or the underbody. For zero excess and no deposit, we recommend choosing our Full Coverage (GOLD Coverage) option.
• Zero or reduced deposit – no large amount blocked on your card.
• Zero excess – you pay nothing for scratches or damage.
• Faster return – simply hand over the keys without lengthy inspections.
• Safety – turn on the hazard lights, place a warning triangle, and make sure everyone is safe.
• Police (in case of an accident) – call the local police to obtain an official report. In most European countries you can dial 112. Please note that without a police report, the insurance will not cover the damage.
• Contact us – reach our 24/7 support team using the phone number in your rental agreement.
In case of a mechanical issue, we will arrange roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle as soon as possible.
• In countries such as Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Slovenia, vehicles require a vignette, which can be purchased online or at fuel stations near the border.
• In countries such as Italy, France, Croatia, and Poland, tolls are paid at toll gates, where the fee depends on the distance traveled.
We recommend checking your route in advance. Our team can also assist you with purchasing a vignette when you collect the vehicle.
• Blue zones – mainly reserved for residents. Visitors can usually park for a limited time (often 1–3 hours) using a mobile parking app.
• Purple / Orange / Green zones – public parking areas suitable for visitors. Payment can be made at parking meters or through mobile apps.
• P+R (Park & Ride) – a convenient option in large cities. These parking areas are located near metro or public transport stations, allowing you to leave your car safely and reach the city center without traffic.
Tip: Always check local parking signs and consider using apps such as EasyPark. Our manager will also explain the local parking rules when you pick up the vehicle.
