Flexible car rental in the Czech Republic

Car rental Czech Republic services allow vehicle pick-up and return in different cities across the country. Start your trip right after landing at Prague Airport (PRG) or collect the car directly in the Prague Downtown. Pick-up is also available in Karlovy Vary, Brno, and Plzeň.

Use our convenient One-Way car rental option to avoid returning to the same location. For example, a car can be collected in Karlovy Vary and returned in Prague before your departure.

FAQ

Still Have Questions About Car Rental in the Czech Republic?

What documents are required to rent a car in the Czech Republic?
1. Passport or ID card
Required to verify your identity and complete the rental agreement.

2. Driver’s license
The license must be issued at least 1 year before the rental date.

3. International Driving Permit (IDP)
Required in some cases if your driver’s license was issued outside the EU. It must be presented together with your national driver’s license.

Please check with our manager in advance to confirm whether an IDP will be required.
What is the minimum age to rent a car in the Czech Republic?
Car rental is available to a wide range of travelers. The main requirement is at least 1 year of driving experience.

Please note the following age categories:

• Standard conditions: ages 25–64.

• Young driver (19–24): rental is available, but a young driver surcharge may apply.

• Senior driver (65–75): rental is available up to 75 years old (additional conditions may apply).
Is it possible to rent a car without a credit card?
Many major car rental companies in Europe require a credit card to block the security deposit. With us, this is not necessary.

You can pay for the rental with a debit card, and cash payment is also available.
Is it possible to rent a car without a deposit?
Yes. Unlike many rental companies that block large deposits, we offer options with zero or reduced deposit.

By choosing a full coverage package (Gold Coverage), you can avoid leaving a deposit entirely. Travel with peace of mind and enjoy your trip without having your funds frozen during your vacation.
When do I need to pay for the rental?
A small prepayment is required to reserve your car for the selected dates. The remaining balance is paid at pick-up in cash or by card, with no hidden fees.
What should I do if I can’t return the car on time?
Please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to be late. If the delay is caused by traffic or unexpected circumstances, contact our manager by phone or message.

We usually provide a grace period of about 1 hour. If the delay is significantly longer and we are not notified in advance, an additional rental day may be charged, as this may affect the next booking and insurance coverage.
Can I return the car in a different location?
If your plans change and you need to return the vehicle in another location, please contact our support team in advance. If operationally possible, we will arrange the return at a different point.

Please note that returning the car at a different location, especially in another city, may involve an additional fee to cover the cost of returning the vehicle.
Do I need to clean the car before returning it?
Normal dirt from regular use does not require cleaning before return. Standard cleaning is included in the rental price.

However, if the vehicle interior is heavily soiled (for example stains on seats, excessive dirt, or pet hair), or if the exterior is extremely dirty and prevents inspection, an additional cleaning fee may apply.
What deposit is required and when is it refunded?
The deposit depends on the vehicle category and typically ranges from €500 to €2000. The exact amount is shown during booking.

The deposit is released when the car is returned. The refund time depends on your bank and usually takes 3–14 business days.

Tip: Choose Full Coverage (GOLD Coverage) to rent a car without a deposit!
What is included in the basic insurance?
Every rental already includes the mandatory basic insurance package, which consists of two parts:

• TPL (Third-Party Liability) – covers damage caused to other vehicles or property.

• CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) – covers damage to the rental car in case of an accident. Your liability is limited to the excess amount.

Please note: Basic insurance usually does not cover damage to tires, windows, or the underbody. For zero excess and no deposit, we recommend choosing our Full Coverage (GOLD Coverage) option.
Why choose GOLD Coverage (Full Insurance)?
This option provides additional protection during your trip.

• Zero or reduced deposit – no large amount blocked on your card.

• Zero excess – you pay nothing for scratches or damage.

• Faster return – simply hand over the keys without lengthy inspections.
What should I do in case of an accident or breakdown?
If something happens during your trip, please follow these steps:

• Safety – turn on the hazard lights, place a warning triangle, and make sure everyone is safe.

• Police (in case of an accident) – call the local police to obtain an official report. In most European countries you can dial 112. Please note that without a police report, the insurance will not cover the damage.

• Contact us – reach our 24/7 support team using the phone number in your rental agreement.

In case of a mechanical issue, we will arrange roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle as soon as possible.
Do I need a vignette for toll roads in the Czech Republic?
If you plan to travel across the Czech Republic or other European countries, you may encounter toll roads. The payment system depends on the country.

• In countries such as Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Slovenia, vehicles require a vignette, which can be purchased online or at fuel stations near the border.

• In countries such as Italy, France, Croatia, and Poland, tolls are paid at toll gates, where the fee depends on the distance traveled.

We recommend checking your route in advance. Our team can also assist you with purchasing a vignette when you collect the vehicle.
Where can I park and how do parking zones work?
Parking in the Czech Republic is regulated by color-coded zones.

• Blue zones – mainly reserved for residents. Visitors can usually park for a limited time (often 1–3 hours) using a mobile parking app.

• Purple / Orange / Green zones – public parking areas suitable for visitors. Payment can be made at parking meters or through mobile apps.

• P+R (Park & Ride) – a convenient option in large cities. These parking areas are located near metro or public transport stations, allowing you to leave your car safely and reach the city center without traffic.

Tip: Always check local parking signs and consider using apps such as EasyPark. Our manager will also explain the local parking rules when you pick up the vehicle.
What are the typical speed limits?
Traffic rules are similar across many European countries, but you should always follow local road signs.

Typical limits in the Czech Republic:

• Cities: 50 km/h
• Outside cities: 90 km/h
• Motorways: 130 km/h.

Tip: Speeding fines in the Czech Republic are high and speed cameras are common. Navigation apps such as Waze or Google Maps can help you stay aware of speed limits.
